“One of the best things about prayer is that it is progressive. It is not a skill we master; it is an unfolding relationship we enjoy”, Joyce Meyer’s the power of Simple Prayer; How to Talk with God about Everything.
Discovering your purpose and identity in life are key components of an abundant life of peace,, and provision. The fight to full maturity and power is fixed and within your divine purpose. God is abundantly more than you can think or ask according to the power working within you. The Holy Spirit’s presence and power are with them that seek Him. According to the bible’s Revelations of Jesus, we already have the victory, your faith is the victory. Nevertheless, we still must fight the good fight of faith continually starting when you first believe. Opposition will be in your daily life regardless of your position, knowledge, and purpose you encountered alone the way. Every anointing I have ever received from God was hidden in a giant I had to fight. And every miracle you will ever experience will be outside your own comfort zone. Your divine connections are of most importance. Not just any connection but those of like minds drawn by the Holy Spirit of God. In a boxing championship match, there are usually twelve rounds. Unless one of the inspiring opponent gets knocked out, it is going to be a fight to the finishing twelve rounds. As with life, we are in the ring to go the full rounds to our destiny of eternal life with an opposing opponent, Satin. So, take the beaten, the punches, duck down when you are able to but always stay in the ring. God is fighting for you so you can take the next step to victory. He will always be there for you, fear not, you won’t fail unless you quit, and your crown of Glory is secured in the hands of our Lord and Savior.
Stay in the know and awareness of the spirit being within you: God is a spirit and we must worship Him in spirit and truth. Our healing is first spiritually in the presence of God, spirit to spirit or iron sharping iron, it’s a mind thing coming out head first. Cultivate continuiously the spiritual you by the way you think, speak, and understand the power at work within you. Regularly feed your spirit with the Word of God for it is a key component of what you think, say and understand, Philippians 4:8-9, allowing the Holy Spirit to work you into His excellent harmonies. The physical body is your world consciousness. This is where our five senses reside; how it taste, feel, and smell, what we see, and hear. The World is feeding and filling your trunk with negative stuff for your senses daily, and the effects of which is based on whose in control, your spirit or your soul. Your soul is where your mind, will and emotions comes into being. You are self-conscious of your own fleshly desires. The key here is love others as yourself and keep self-control of your mind, will, and emotions; the two book ends are there to hold everything together. Anytime your will is challenge, your emotions will be out of control unless the spiritual you is in control. Regularly cultivating your spirit with the Word of God will grow you in the fruits of the spirit. The challenges you face are there to cultivate the spiritual fruits: love, self-control, goodness, kindness, . God wants your spirit to be in control, most of the time – 80/20, so to not become entangled with the web of weeds from your flesh and/or the World System.
Types of Prayers Continued
Prayer of Consecration and Dedication: Here is where my posture and focus are important. Posture of comfort in the right place and time of consecration opens my hearts to receive from the Holy Spirit. Scriptures teaches us to find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted t role-play, Matthew 6:6, role-paying is assuming the behavior of someone other than yourself or as in the field of psychology, it can refer to a wide variety of games. God wants the true and authentic you in the secret place. So I encourage you to build an alter of sacrifice in early morning prayers, a place of peace and comfort in a secret place, and a place of consistency. The effects of which are meeting our need to be in conscious intimacy and communion with the Holy Spirit. Herein, I learn to release my will for God’s Will, Matthew 26:39-44, and to listen to what the spirit is saying to me (inclusive of when to speak or not as in let go, let God), the people and the World. Prayers are two way communications, we speak and then listen for what the Holy Spirit has to say. The key is to stay alert, be in prayer so you don’t wander into temptation without even knowing you’re in danger. There is a spiritual you ready and eager to receive everything from God, but there is also a fleshly you that the Message Bible reference as “lazy as an old dog sleeping by the fire”.
Prayer of Petition, supplication, and importunity: A written and verbal request for help from the one and only God of authority and power, Jesus Christ. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. An insistent solicitation and/or urgency of pressing important. Perseverance has a hope and faith attached to it that not only is God able, but we have a covenant right to demand it. Offering up prayers and requests to God, Philippians 4:6-7; and, praying for the peace of God’s Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven. This peace will control the way you think and feel, and the Holy Spirit’s presence will guide you on when to press in more or His timing to release it. There is great power also in letting go. Jesus told the disciples about the effects of continual prayers of annoyance in Luke 18:1-16. A widower’s persistent prayer to an unbelieving Judge for deliverance from her adversary. Because of her refusal to give up and her intolerable annoyance, he granted her desire for deliverance. It is important to know when to press into a more insistence prayer or to let it go into the hands of the Lord.
Prayer of Imprecation or Spiritual Warfare: To imprecate means to invoke evil upon or curse one’s enemies. The prayers of the righteous entrusting God to invoke evil or curses on the enemies of God and His believers; against all evil doers and the wicket, and against the strongholds of the World Systems’ that promote oppression, inequality, and injustice. Although the prayers are directed at the wicket people and systems causing the wickedness, we do not war against the flesh and blood of our families, brothers and neighbors. We are trusting God who works righteousness, and justice for all who are oppressed of the devil. We are binding and rendering demonic spirits of Satan and his legion armies powerless by The Blood of Jesus as we loose the Holy Spirit to go to work. God and His righteous ones are waring against the spirits that causes people in authority to perform evil acts. The binding of evil spirits from the root and seed of conception are speaking directly to strongholds, Satan’s destructive mob, and generational curses. Just as The Holy Spirit of God uses people to accomplish His Will, Satan too must have a body to operate from. This is why scriptures tells us to, “give no place to the Devil”, “an idle mind is the devil’s play ground” and “humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, resist the Devil and He will flea from you”. Your enemies are also God’s enemies and reversal; For these things he hate and so should you; lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and pride of life. We are also taught spiritually to bless those who persecute you; “…bless and do not curse them, never avenge yourselves but leave it to the wrath of God,” (Roman 12: 14, 19). We are heirs of the covenant promises of Abraham to bless and to curse (Genesis 12:3 & Galatians 3:28-29 & 1 Peter 2:23). His wounds became our healing, and blessing your enemies release you but heap up coal on their heads. This is what prayers of imprecation do to the enemies of God and this World.
The Punishment of Judas, Acts 1:15-20: Judas was the guide for those who arrested Jesus, he used the evil bribe money to buy a farm. There he came to a bad end, he fell head first and his body bursted opened, and his intestines spilled out. There the land was named “Field of Blood”. Noting the end of God’s enemy. Woe to those who are enemies of God and His people without repentance. A repentance soul has Glory of salvation through judgement. Praying the imprecate prayers are of importance for God’s kingdom to come on earth, there has to be first a clearing of the pathway, a vanishing of the King’s enemies for His arrival, 2 Thessalians 1:5-12. Thy kingdom come, thy Will be don on Earth as it is in Heaven, Matthew 6:10. The vengence belongs to the Lord, He will repay. In praying the imprecatory prayers, we humble under the finish work of Jesus Christ shielded Blood on the Cross.
Praying Psalms of imprecatory Prayers: These are psalms prayed from an emotional place of my weaknesses. Psalms 35 prayer of imprecate example; “Let them be put to shame and dishonor who seek after my life! Let them be turned back and disappointed who devise evil against me! Let them be like chaff before the wind. With the angel of the Lord driving them away! Let their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of the Lord pursuing them! For without cause they hid their net for me; without cause they dug a pit for my life. Let destruction come upon him when he does not know it! And let the net that he hid ensnare him; let him fall into it – to his destruction”. And other examples are: Psalms 7, 35, 40, 55, 58, 59, 69, 79, 109, 137, 139, etc. Imprecatory prayers are still prevalent today as noted in the New Testament’s Revelation of Christ 6:9-11, “…I say the souls of those killed because they had held firm in their witness to the Word of God. They were gathered under the Altar, and cried out in loud prayers, “How long, Strong God, Holy and True? How long before you step in and avenge our murders? Then each martyr was given a white robe and told to sit back and wait until the full number of martyrs was filled from among their servant companions and friends in the faith.”
Praying In The Spirit: Regardless of where you are in your relationship with God, you will come to a place of uncertainty, discouragement, and insecurity of what to do or say at some point in your prayer life. When you know not what to pray for, you are too weak to pray, or you believe you are sending off the wrong prayer request; it is now the time to allow the Holy Spirit of God to take over, to help you with wisdom and insight. God’s spirit is right alongside helping us along the moment we get tired in the waiting. Praying in the Spirit is trusting in the power of God, seeking His wisdom, and insight to make things right. You are asking the spirit to control the waring of your own fleshly desires, and to encourage, edify, and assure you of His Grace to see you and others through the situation. Praying in the spirit will take you into an intimacy with the Holy Spirit, (Romans 8, 1 Corinthian 14:14-15). This is where enemies of the flesh cannot understand nor infuse your mind with lies and deceit because you are praying in the spirit. This is your spirit to God’s spirit and His spirits is the empowerment for you to be and to do, where downloads of wisdom and insight comes to you. His spirit touches our spirit and confirms who we really are in Christ and helps us to go through the process of exactly what Christ goes through. The Holy Ghost power in the name of Jesus, I believe and I receive it today!
Unhindered Prayers: Pray that your prayers may not be hindered by evil thoughts or doing, and pray that Israel will turn back to the Lord their God, Hosea 5:15; and, 1 Peter 3:7, treat your wives as equals so your prayers don’t run aground. Summing up: 1 Peter 3:12, Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless – that’s your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a blessing.
